These Gorgeous Celebrities Choose To Live Organic
With the natural health and beauty industry booming in Hollywood, it is no surprise these gorgeous stars are choosing to live green. Some celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Miranda Kerr and Alicia Siverstone have taken their deep passion for organic living to the point of writing natural lifestyle books and creating organic product ranges. There is no better advocate for natural beauty products than these exquisitely beautiful stars of Hollywood.
In her 2013 book, “The Honest Life” Jessica Alba writes that her path to healthier living was a result of a childhood marked with frequent illnesses, including severe asthma, allergies and even surgeries. Alba co-founded The Honest Company to give parents more options for safe, eco-friendly and affordable products for their babies and children. Alba told Health magazine that she chooses unprocessed foods, mostly organic foods. “To me, knowing that if you eat unprocessed fresh food it doesn’t all have to be organic, but try to have the least amount of GMOs and pesticides.” Alba also swears by natural beauty products.
Hollywood actress, avid environmentalist and vegan, Alicia Silverstone eats a clean organic diet. Her passion led her to share he views in the book “The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight and Saving the Planet.” Silverstone told Fox News Magazine that, “Organic produce does not have to break the bank. If you shop locally — straight from the growers — it can be crazy cheap. After I became vegan I saw the incredible full-body benefits of eating clean, nourishing food, and it didn’t take me long to realize the same goes for your skin. It’s your largest organ! It takes in about 60 percent of what you put into it. So when you use chemicals, you may as well be eating them. I adopted this diet for the animals, but the biggest surprise was how amazing I felt! I ditched my asthma inhaler, stopped my weekly allergy shots, lost weight, and had a new glow from my skin and hair. I felt incredible from having more energy and balanced moods. This way of eating transformed me. Since then, I have not needed caffeine, aspirin or antibiotics.”
Silverstone doesn’t just use organic beauty products, but they are also eco-friendly and cruelty-free; “I test all kinds of items, from chocolates to beauty products, and have a very hot list of what I think is the best of the best. There are so many great companies out there doing great things.
Supermodel, Gisele Bundchen can only be described as radiant. This Brazilian bombshell claims that her exquisite body and glowing skin are a result of a healthy organic lifestyle. At home in Los Angeles, her meals and regular green juice come from her organic kitchen garden. She told “Architectural Digest” that she and husband Tom Brady grow 85 percent of the fruits and vegetables they eat, and the property features a chicken coop.
In 2010, Bundchen launched her own eco-friendly skincare line Sejaa. She says, “Your skin is your biggest organ, so everything you put in it, it goes directly to your system.”
“I try to always be as green as possible,” actress Courtney Cox told US Magazine. She makes a habit of buying organic products for her family from organic food, clothing and bedding to beauty products.
Academy award winner Julia Roberts makes a point of living an organic lifestyle including growing her own vegetable garden. She says, “This seems to be a pretty fast moving trend; in cities people are growing organic gardens in their apartment balconies and courtyards. It’s actually really an excellent hobby, it inspires local eating and is fun to watch your babies grow and then be able to show off your bounty to friends!”
Trend setting supermodel Miranda Kerr has gone so organic she has developed her own beauty line – Kora Organics. Kerr says, “There are a lot of household and beauty products that contain chemicals. Food these days unless it’s organic more than likely contains pesticides, insecticides and/or hormones. Personally when I have the choice I choose to use products and eat food that is organic. If you have the space nothing is better than growing your own vegetables. I have a garden that I am very proud of where I grow green leafy salad vegetables, herbs and other vegetables. Having personally experienced the benefits of living a healthy and organic lifestyle I want my son to experience this also and gain an understanding of the importance of good nutrition in his life.”
Since her cancer scare the Australian Oscar winning actress Nicole Kidman makes sure her and her family eats organic food. “I try to eat well, only organic food: salads and fish. Sometimes pasta, but I’m no friend to food with high fat content.”
