Psoriasis fears are more common than you think

Did you know that four in 10 people with psoriasis feel their partner found them unattractive because of it, and 15% will not go on holiday for fear of having to bare all? These findings are the result of a report published by Exorex to mark the launch of the Everyday Psoriasis campaign.

The report also reveals that four in 10 psoriasis sufferers say people have looked repulsed by the sight of their skin condition, and more than half believe their co-workers act as if there is something wrong with them because of the way they look.

Model Cara Delevingne, and reality TV star Kim Kardashian, both spoke out about their battle with psoriasis, in interviews Delevingne has said she might leave the catwalk as a result of the condition.

She told W magazine: “It only happened during the Fashion Weeks, which are, of course, the worst time of year for me to be covered in scabs. Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease, and I’m sensitive.”

Talking about how the condition affects her on the reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardishian’s, Kim shared she feared her career would be over when she was diagnosed. “My career is doing ad campaigns and swimsuit photo shoots. People don’t understand the pressure on me to look perfect.”
