Powerful Reasons Why You Need To Start Meditating This Year
Powerful reasons behind meditation are exactly why you need to do it more this year. Whether or not you’ve meditated before, it is something that takes time to get good at. However, meditation is not as complicated as you might think. It is about dedicating a certain amount of ‘quiet’ time to yourself.
We forget how important it is to give yourself this time. When you give yourself this downtime, your brain is able to concentrate and find peace among the chaos. So many of us live stressed-out lives and are seeking ways to attract more peace into our lives. Powerful reasons why you need to meditate is the sense of clarity it provides you with.
Being able to attract peace into your life is what makes meditation so powerful.
Powerful Reasons To Meditate
Meditation has been around for years. I’ve read about the powerful reasons to start and only recently started practicing it myself. But to be honest, since I’ve started I have been able to clarify mind more easily than before. In fact, I was inspired to write this article because of my positive experience with meditation.
Sitting in silence might seem a little strange at first. However, you might be surprised at how happy that bit of silence can make you feel. And meditation doesn’t need to go on for long either. Even if you just get in a few minutes, you’ll do wonders for your health.
It’s a powerful experience that isn’t easy to explain in words. Interestingly, each time you do it, you will feel different. There are times when you will feel cluttered and stressed – where you can’t get thoughts out of your mind. And then there will be times when you can effortlessly control these thoughts.
These are some of the powerful reasons to try meditation this year. It helps to start with five to ten minutes everyday.
1. Your Concentration Will Improve
There are many studies that prove the effectiveness of meditation for clarity of mind. And when your mind is free of clutter, you will be much more productive.
This means your ability to innovate, create and get important tasks done during the day will increase significantly.
2. You Won’t Sweat The Small Things
There’s no denying the fact that we tend to get upset by the smallest things. Especially when we’re feeling tired, anxious or stressed. We do this because it is the body’s natural defense mechanism to protect itself. And often, these issues are that really a big deal. But they can cause a lot of unnecessary stress.
Powerful reasons for meditation are that it allows you to detach, accept and let go. The art of meditation allows you to learn to live in the here and now. Instead of stressing about what’s happened in the past or what’s going to happen in the future. It teaches you to not worry about pointless things when you can focus on the bigger picture instead.
3. A Calm Mind Is A Healthy Body
When you meditate often you are giving your mind and body time to heal and reconnect. Therefore, your body will be a lot healthier because you’ll be less prone to extreme stress, anxiety, depression, heart attacks, burn out and even strokes.
Tons of research shows that regular meditation reduces stress and anxiety. It also improves attention span, memory, and promotes self-regulation and empathy. It is basically like a fitness routine, but for your brain. And just like all fitness goals. If you want to achieve them you need to be consistent with your exercise routine.
More importantly, meditation is not powerful because it teaches you to stop thinking about your emotions or problems. It is powerful because it teaches you to be mindful about them. Life is certainly no ‘la la land’ and you cannot be happy all the time. However, you can notice what happens moment to moment. This includes both the easy and the difficult, the painful and the joyful.
I like to think of it like building a muscle that’s strong enough to live in the present. To live in the now.
4. A Strong Mind-Body Connection
Simply taking the time to just breathe for a few minutes every day will have amazing health benefits. That’s all you need to build a strong sense of resilience against life’s curve balls.
Meditation allows you to develop a deeper understanding of your inner self. This is probably the most important reason compared to all the other powerful reasons you should start meditating. Who doesn’t want to discover their true purpose in life?
Regular meditation allows you to gain a better understanding of what your life is about. Therefore, if your goal this new year is to develop a clearer direction and focus then you might want to start meditating.
