The Next Big Thing: Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment
In our latest product review article, we’re sharing the latest and most exciting beauty-buys that take your skin type and skin issue into consideration so that you know exactly what to expect when the newest products hit the shelves. For this article, we reviewed the new Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment.
What Does It Do?
Our skin cells regenerate every 28 days, however as we age, this rate slows down, leaving us with dull and aged skin. However, there are ways to accelerate this process and encourage cell turnover, thereby improving your appearance.
A facial peel exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin cells and increasing skin cell renewal – and that’s exactly what the Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment does. A four-week resurfacing regime that gently exfoliates the skin and enhances natural cell turnover. Additionally, each week of the treatment focuses on a specific skin concern.
What Can You Expect From This Elizabeth Arden Prevage Product?
Sun damage is one of the biggest contributors to premature aging and other skin concerns, such as hyperpigmentation and fine lines.
As a result of its resurfacing ingredients, this facial peel helps to improve the appearance of dullness as well as combat the aging effects of sun damage. These include age spots, wrinkles, fine lines and hyperpigmentation resulting in a smoother, brighter appearance.

The main ingredients in this product are polyhydroxy acid (PHA) and alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). These are two facial acids that help to exfoliate and encourage natural cell turnover. The PHA – as a result of its molecular size – is less irritating and much more moisturizing.
This product also protects the skin against environmental stressors, thanks to the antioxidant ingredient idebenone.
Lastly, the renewal treatment also includes a pH buffering ingredient (phosphate salts). This helps to ensure the effectiveness of the peel.
The Science Behind It
While facial peels are often associated with some downtime, the new at-home facial peel treatment from Elizabeth Arden helps to simplify the process with a lowered risk of irritation, all while achieving the desired result of healthy, bright skin.
The pH of the skin is incredibly important as the lower the pH of the skin is, the more effective the face acids will be. With this in mind, Elizabeth Arden made sure to include a pH buffer in their treatment that will help to keep the pH of the skin low so that the face acids can work effectively.
How Do You Use It?
After cleansing, begin with phase 1 and use nightly for 7 days. You can then move on to phase 2 and so forth, until the end of phase 4. The treatment is intended for a nightly duration of 28 days.
It is important to wait at least 20 minutes before applying any other products. It is also advisable that you gently wash your face in the morning before applying any other products. Additionally, avoid any face washes that contain other acids as ingredients.
As facial peels can make the skin more sensitive, after-care is just as important. That being said, be sure to always apply a broad-spectrum SPF30+ during the duration of your treatment. A good quality moisturizer can also be applied if you’re battling with extra dryness.
