It’s also a whole lot healthier than stopping at the local bakery for a giant piece of carrot cake on your way to work. A smoothie may not be cake, but it is satisfyingly close. Healthy Carrot Cake Protein Smoothie
Once I actually sat down to think about how I could mimic the taste and feeling of eating carrot cake, it quickly made sense. All you’ve got to do is collect the same spices and create a soft and creamy texture. That’s when I started to think about lots of cinnamon, nutmeg, carob, and maca powder.
Then I thought about a thicker consistency and realized that adding some oats and banana together blended will definitely give you a yummy and creamy consistency. Therefore, this is a very easy and delicious recipe that’ll keep things healthy and vegetarian. The best recipes are always discovered by experimenting!
Oh, don’t forget about the protein, because this smoothie is packed with protein powder, almond milk, and greek yogurt if you’d like. Plus the recipe is customizable and you can make it taste sweeter, nuttier, spicier or fruitier depending on what you prefer.
The Healthy Carrot Cake Smoothie Recipe

Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
No cooking is required whatsoever!
- 1 Frozen banana, chopped and peeled.
- Approximately 1 cup of chopped carrot (I use one large carrot or 2 medium ones).
- 2/3 Cup almond milk
- 1/2 Cup plain or Greek yogurt (optional)
- 1 Large date.
- 1 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
- A thin slice of fresh ginger
- A teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- 1 Tablespoon maca powder (optional – if you’d like a nuttier taste.)
- A teaspoon of carob powder
- 1/2 Cup of Oats
- Optional toppings: extra grated carrots, toasted coconut, toasted walnuts
- 2 Ice blocks
Now is the easiest part. All you need to do is pop your ingredients into a blender. Turn it onto high and blend for 30-60 seconds until smooth. Remember, it’s up to you how you prefer your smoothie consistency. I like mine thick and creamy. However, if your smoothie is too thick, add an extra 1/4 cup of almond milk or water to get it thinner.
Then you can pour your delicious healthy carrot cake smoothie into a glass, immediately and sip on it slowly! Enjoy the sensations that will result from this recipe – I can guarantee it’s a whole lot better than shoving down another cinnamon roll.
