Fitfluencer Protein Smoothie To Fuel Your Day

In our opinion, smoothies are some of the best things since sliced bread. Really, we love them because they have made our lives so many times easier, better, and more nutritious. Because you can blend just about anything in a great smoothie – from those fresh vegetables you know you need but have trouble working in, to ingredients that your skin requires, such as collagen, to plant-based protein – we see them as one of the ultimate wellness meals.

With this in mind, we recently met up with fitness icon and Instagram influencer Briana Chandler and picked her brain on all things health, wellness and fitness. More on that will follow shortly. Between us chatting about her fitness regime, favorite meals, workouts – and how she manages to keep up with her 285K Instagram followers on her account at @bribabee – Briana shared a really great protein smoothie recipe – one that she says fuels her morning properly and keeps her going through butt-kicking workouts. This one, as she explains, is not your average shake, because the protein inside won’t overpower all the other flavors like many smoothie recipes tend to do. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup strawberries, raspberries or blueberries
  • 200ml yoghurt (preferably strawberry or rhubarb flavored, and try to aim for the sugar-less kind – Briana suggests siggi’s yoghurt)
  • 100 ml milk (today, you have so many options when it comes to milk, and most work well in this smoothie, be it cows milk, almond, oat, soy or rice. Briana opts for regular milk)
  • 1 scoop unflavored collagen peptides

Method:

Mix all the ingredients together in a high-powered blender until well blended. Pour into a tall glass to enjoy at home, or, if you are on the go, into a takeaway cup to have later. Top with extra blueberries, mint leaves or coconut shavings for extra taste!

How much protein does this smoothie contain?
